Our Team

Ken is the lead pastor of Life Compass Church. With a background in social work and criminal justice, he has been involved with urban ministry for the past 35 years. Ken founded Life Compass Urban Ministries in 2008.

Esther has a background in elementary education and leading ministries in the urban community. She oversees family ministries at Life Compass

Ken and Esther have been married since 1998, and they have four children: Cole, Ava, Jace, and Alexa. The Tueck family resides in Kankakee.

Beto and his family are originally from Mexico and are now serving in the States.

The Silvas came to Life Compass in late 2017 after serving with Principles for Living Ministry in Nebraska. They now serve to connect Life Compass Church to the Hispanic community in Kankakee.

Beto serves as the worship leader for our Sunday services and for our youth group. Beto married Karen in 2005 and they have three children: Isabella, Liam, Elena.

Beto also leads in our Life Compass Arts ministry.

Cami DeMott began calling Life Compass home in 2020. She grew up in Northern Michigan and recently graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ministerial Missions.

She has a passion for multi cultural ministry and has traveled to several countries, including Quito, Ecuador where she lived for 2 months to study the culture and Spanish language. Throughout her life, she has been called to outreach ministry and specifically been called to serve the local community of Kankakee.

She now serves as the Family Pastor as well as the Life Compass Arts Director.

Olivia grew up in Northern Indiana. She began attending Life Compass in 2020 when she began her undergraduate degree at Olivet Nazarene University. She is currently enrolled as a full-time student, majoring in Elementary Education, with a minor in Youth Ministry. She will be graduating in the fall of 2024.

During her time serving at Life Compass, Olivia feels called to serve the youth and local community of Kankakee. She is passionate about multigenerational ministry. She desires youth to experience the abundant life Jesus has promised them and be an integral part of the church.

In her free time, Olivia loves hiking and doing art. She is an avid runner and runs for team World Vision.

She currently serves as our Youth Pastor.
