WHAT IS LIFE COMPASS ARTS?

LCA LOGO TRANSPARENT COLOR.png

Life Compass Arts is a cornerstone ministry of Life Compass Church designed to inspire and develop creativity, relationships, and faith in students and their families. Students and families are given the option of a variety of subjects to learn, ranging from guitar to robotics. In a classroom with a few other students and one of our qualified volunteer instructors, they receive weekly instruction in their subject of choice.

Sudents involved in musical lessons are given an instrument at the beginning of the semester that they will keep at the completion of the course with no cost to the families. Students in art will have projects to take home and to be displayed around the church building.

In addition to creative instruction, we teach the priciples and truths of the Bible through creative video teaching from Think Orange. Aided by our core leaders, we talk about what it means to know and follow God. It is our hope to surround young students with believers who love God and love each other in the community.

FAQ’s

How do I get involved in LCA?
Students and families interested in participating in LCA are invited to fill out an application provided during one of our application events. Following the application process our team will decide the best class for each student and notify families as soon as possible of their acceptance status. While we are limited on staff and space, most students are accepted.

When Does LCA happen?
LCA currently runs on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm. Classes are offered on one night a week. Students and families will be notified of cancellations or changes in schedule via email and social media.

What classes will be offered in 2021?
LCA expects to host musical instrument classes for guitar, piano, violin, and drums. We will also offer an art class.

How old does my child have to be to attend LCA?
Most of our classes are offered beginning in 4th grade and starting up to 8th grade. These include all music and art classes. Robotics is only offered to students in 6th or 7th grade.

Do I have to pay to be involved in LCA?
Not at all! Everything that Life Compass provides is entirely free to students and families. Instruments and materials are supplied through the church and students are given the instrument at the conclusion of one year of involvement.

What if I am an adult?
Life Compass Church seeks to minister to the whole family. Our hope is that when parents drop off their kids for classes, that they will stay and join us for a time of fellowship. Coffee and snacks are provided, and we offer an ESL class to parents of LCA students. We would encourage all parents to participate in this time together.
